I am on day 8 of my 30 day blogging challenge. I’ve reached my one week anniversary of the blogging challenge without even noticing! That’s so like me.
So far, I’ve been surprised with how easy it has been to come up with content. My process has been this- I sit down, at the end of my day usually, with the intention to write. I haven’t decided on specific topic yet, so I’ll think about what happened during my day. Did anything new or exciting happen? did I cook or bake something worth sharing? Did I have a transcendental and thought provoking idea? You know, stuff like that.
And then I start to write. Sometimes my topic and thoughts will solidify the more I write. Some days I feel like a have zero mental capacity for saying anything meaningful, so I will write about something more mechanical, like a recipe.
Now I’m on day 8. Somethings gotta be working.
Knowing that I have to blog everyday has been a great motivator for me to research and develop more recipes. It also helps that I work for a company and live in a city that promotes health and fitness. I love tweaking recipes to make them more healthy, so being surrounded by individuals who love and support that style of eating and cooking has been such a relief.
Now, I have to remind myself that I’m living in a food mecca, so tacos, burgers, Korean BBQ, coffee shops, and noodle houses might make there way into this blog. My goal is to take advantage of the myriad of restaurants around me. Only time and money (mostly money) will tell.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I want my writing approach to reflect balance. A balance of health, thoughtfulness, good food, and all things lovely.
